Review
As the cover to issue #274 showcases, its an odd cast of characters that
come together to stop Magneto, including Rouge, Ka-Zar and Nick Fury,
and in there lies the appeal of the story. Its great to see Ka-Zar and
Fury together again, and its a shame they haven't shared a proper adventure
together. The S.H.I.E.L.D. aspect of the story is somewhat confusing, as command
of the operations seems split evenly between Fury and his Soviet counterpart,
of whom the latter seems to have more troops. The
art, considered so amazing at the time, seems rather lackluster these
days, almost messy. Despite the interesting cast of characters, the interplay
between them is kept to a bare minimum. Interesting to note that among
the many Magneto vs the world scenarios that pepper the X-Titles, this
is the only time where Fury actually engages Magneto in person. Worth
a buy at the quarter bin.
