Notes
- The

Fury, appearing on T-shirts, posters and calendars.
- The

(1) #1 packaged with the Nick Fury Marvel Legends
action figure.
- Roy
Thomas is one of only two only writers to write for both of
Nick Fury's 1960s title series.
- Frank
Springer was also an artist on the Howling Commandos titles.
- Reprinted
in:
- Captain Britain (1) #33-34
- Marvel Masterworks: Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Volume 3
Review
Steranko
takes the day off aside from cover duties as the book recounts a touched-up
version of Fury's ascension to the directorship of S.H.I.E.L.D. curtsey of writer
Roy Thomas and penciler Frank Springer. The various assassination attempts
are fun, but more interesting is the detail in the aircraft (like Cobra,
HYDRA adopted the SR-71; my question is ...where do they get the special
fuel?) The plot is familiar to us all by now, but its worth it, especially
for the fantastic cover by Steranko.
